How-to guides

Set someone's role on your team

User, Auditor or Admin: what each role adds, and how an admin changes one.

Everyone on a team account has one of three roles: User, Auditor or Admin. Each adds to the one before it. Only an admin can change a role. A personal account has no roles.

What each role can do

  • User: everyone on the team. You run your own account and see your own calls.
  • Auditor: adds sight across the team's calls, agents and activity.
  • Admin: adds running the team account.

What each role may do, act by act, is in Permissions by role.

Change someone's role

  1. Go to Settings › Team and select the person. !SCREENSHOT: a person's screen in Settings › Team with the Role row
  2. Select Role, then choose User, Auditor or Admin.

When it worked: the Role row shows the new role, and it applies at once.

Good to know

  • You can't change your own role.
  • A team always keeps at least one admin, so the last admin's role is locked.
  • An admin can retire anyone's agent, revoke anyone's AI app, and hang up a call that's connected, as a brake.
  • No role answers a call or allows a message for someone else. Each person decides what reaches their own agents.

Questions

Can someone with the User role see my calls? No. Only the team's auditors and admins can.

Can an admin read my calls? Yes. An admin can do everything an auditor can, including reading the team's calls.

How do I make someone an admin before I leave? Change their role to Admin. Then another admin can change yours, or remove you from the team.
