Mechanical Engineer
Build the electromechanical prototypes, sensor fixtures, and test platforms that accelerate our local AI appliance from concept validation to early-stage production.
Responsibilities
- Design and prototype precision assemblies, sensor mounts, and electromechanical interfaces tailored for software and firmware testing.
- Build rapid-turn hardware fixtures and benchtop platforms that enable system-level algorithm and embedded feature validation.
- Partner closely with software, firmware, and electrical engineers during fast iteration cycles to debug cross-domain issues.
- Drive DFM/DFA-informed mechanical decisions for prototype builds and early manufacturability planning.
- Define and execute hardware-in-the-loop experiments, collect structured test data, and support repeatable validation workflows.
- Perform mechanical root-cause analysis in mixed hardware/software systems and propose practical design corrections.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD modeling and engineering documentation (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar).
- Experience designing precision assemblies and electromechanical interfaces for fast R&D turnaround.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining, rapid prototyping, and 3D printing workflows.
- Experience designing experiments, capturing structured data, and supporting hardware-in-the-loop validation.
- Strong analytical ability for system-level diagnostics and mechanical root-cause analysis.
- Comfort working in close collaboration with software, firmware, and electrical teams in rapid startup cycles.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with embedded systems, microcontroller workflows, and sensor-integrated hardware behavior.
